Working with our Families
Family Learning
We are pleased to work with Kent Adult Education, to provide in school, a range of free Family Learning Courses.
These may be for adults alone or a course or activity that involves their children.
Some of those that have been provided so far include, Bug Hunt, Christmas crafts, Worry Jar and Family First Aid.
Please see the brochure (below) for 2024-25 courses and contact our FLO, Mrs Eakins or the school office if you have any questions or feel you might be interested in a particular course.
If sufficient numbers are met we will work to run the course if possible.
Please look out for further updates regarding Family Learning on our school messaging service School Ping.
Passport of Experiences
During 2021 the school created a School Passport including 21 activities and experiences we hope will be offered to our children during the seven years at Newington CEP School.
The activities were selected from a long list of suggestions from families, children and staff.
Reading at Home
We asked families for their tips to encourage and enjoy reading at home. Visit the link below to read their great ideas!
Newington CEP - Reading at Home
We have put together a collection of Children's Book that you may borrow as a family, should you want to discuss with your children, such topics as a death in the family, family break up, racism, illness, natural disasters, sexuality or moving schools.
Please speak to our FLO Mrs Eakins or contact the school office if you think there may be a book that will help at a particular time.
We are happy to add to the collection if we do not have a relevant book. Please let us know if you are looking to talk at home and sharing a children's book would help.
