We have invested in fantastic sporting facilities at Newington CEP and employ specialist sports coaches to provide additional opportunities for our pupils, alongside our well-trained staff.  We also work with a range of local sports clubs to offer taster sessions in sports such as hockey, rugby and cricket and the opportunity to join local teams. All pupils are given the opportunity to take part in competitive sport during their time with us should they wish.

All pupils in Year 5 attend swimming lessons at a local pool and pupils in year 6 who have not reached the required standard are provided with additional lessons.  Being close to water, we prioritise self-rescue as a key skill.

We have used our sports premium to develop PE and promote an active lifestyle across the school. This extends to our extra-curricular clubs and our MUGA which gets daily use. The links below celebrate our previous achievements and outline our current plans.
